Product design
- A friend complained to me she can't get boiled eggs right. They're always too hard or too soft for her taste. Fair, that's even the subject of an exam at world-class cooking school Cordon Bleu. Soft-boiled eggs are hard. They are delicious because they are complex.
- Me, I’m an egg-head. 3 every morning, at least. Making them to the gel-like texture I love became a no-brainer: 6 minutes and 5 seconds on my stove. It wasn't until I spent a month in the altitude of the Peruvian Andes (every egg was disastrously undercooked) that I realised: soft-boiled eggs are hard.

- Why did my eggs on Switzerland turned to an uncooked mush, even though my timing was perfect? The water was boiling. The eggs were about the same size. The wind was blowing gently outside, but not inside the kitchen.
- Why did I repeat the same steps in two different places and got supreme delight on one, and a jelly-like mush on another?
- The answer came from above, literally. The higher altitude in the Andes makes water boil at a much lower temperature. That means less heat to cook our edible pearls. So, in the mountains, eggs need way more time in their jacuzzi to get done. In some cases, you may need to cook them for twice as long!
- With research, a few AI prompts, and some old calculus classes revived in my aging brain, I got to the holy grail algorithm. One mathematical recipe. I had found the promise of perfect eggs —anywhere, always.

The Design
- The native app reads the location and determines your altitude based on your location. It then applies the aforementioned algorithm, the holy grail of cooking, and deliveres perfectly timed presets for each consistency humanity can think of.
- Let's get one thing straight though: the eggs are the star here, okay? So, if I were to make this thing happen, it needed to honour this source of molten gold.
- ✸ Meet this gigantic, oversized dial/yolk that you interact with to choose your sweet-spot. It has subtle, fun interactions to show you exactly what you'll get at the end of your perfectly-timed wait.

My role
- Buckle up for the brag (or should I say, bregg? Okay, I'll stop): this was a one-man project. This humongous marvel of engineering was done in less than 12 working hours, single-handed. Well, I used both hands so... double-handed.
- I've researched, conceived, named, reached out to chefs, designed, made custom notification sounds, coded, polished, smashed bugs, built and released.
- All so that you, egg-head like me, can also have perfect eggs anywhere, always, and with love.
